StairSafe Standard (Straight) Post
Staircases and balustrades are often only installed once the build is complete in order to prevent damage during construction. The StairSafe standard post is part of a range of products which can be used help to meet the stringent Health & Safety regulations imposed on construction sites, which states that protection barriers must be fitted for works carried out at a height.
The StairSafe system includes a set of handrails (1x short and 2x long) which are specifically designed to work with StairSafe posts. The handrails are adjustable, short from 750–1200mm (8kg) and long from 2500–3500mm (15kg). Alternatively StairSafe posts can be used with timber rails.
Posts are manufactured from 30mm steel box section welded to a pre-drilled base plate, and as well as the standard post, are available in corner and stringer post configurations. All the posts have provision to screw fix a kickboard and have pre-drilled 40mm (w) x 100mm (h) mid-rail and handrail brackets. Posts should be secured using the appropriate fixings to timber decking, concrete floors and stairs to form a sturdy safety barrier.
