Ockwells & Sustainability

As part of SIG, Ockwells are actively engaged in many aspects of the wider group’s key initiatives and goals around sustainability, focusing on making our overall operations more sustainable. As with all SIG businesses, Ockwells actions and activities around these core group initiatives contribute to the overall progress being made towards achieving our sustainability goals. Ockwells also undertake initiatives specific to our operations and the markets we serve, focusing on areas such as product development, packaging, and our day-to-day operations.

Key Ockwells activities and achievements around sustainability include
• Developing and sourcing products containing recycled materials – now 40% of range
• Drive towards products being reusable multiple times – 74% of range meet this target
• Increase in products that are recyclable at end of life – 76% of our products can be recycled
• Packaging used on goods coming into business – significant reductions over recent years
• Reduction in packaging used on outgoing goods – revised methods and materials introduced
• Automated warehouse and ordering introduced – reduction in carbon footprint
• Zero waste to landfill – Ockwells achieved this milestone in May 2025
• Paperless literature – since 2020 all Ockwells literature has been electronic
• Supply Chain Sustainability School – first achieved Gold Status May 2020
• ISO 14001 Environmental Management certification
